Countryways Sporting Events are based in the South East of England and specialise in providing high quality bespoke outdoor experience's and delivering complete client and guest fulfillment. Enjoy Fly Fishing and Clay Pigeon Shooting?
Then this combined format is just for you..
Based at Weir Wood Reservoir, Forest Row, East Sussex and adjacent woodland
Weir Wood is a natural 280 acre reservoir flooded some sixty years ago from the Upper Medway and Eden rivers and nestled between East and West Sussex.
Surrounded by mature woodland and quintessential English countryside featuring
hedgerows and pasture. Look north for views of historic Standen House and distant east to the ancient church tower in East Grinstead, the water is unspoilt and quite magical with an abundance of Flora and Fauna. Much of the 200 acre perimeter is a designated site of special natural interest and therefore a nature lovers dream. Bring your binoculars as visitors can spot Deer, birds of prey including Osprey, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Kestral together with Terns, Egret, Lapwing, Heron and other wading birds and waterfowl of all species who share this beautiful and tranquil environment.

The scene is set so now the activities begin....
Arrive at the Fishing Lodge for a safety briefing over a breakfast roll and Coffee....
Then spend a captivating half day Fly Fishing for Trout on this magnificent water, from the bank or one of the purpose built modern, powered fishing boats. Instructors and guides are always (unobtrousivly) on hand, to direct you to the 'hotspots' and advise on choice of fly and tactics providing every opportunity to catch a handsome Trout or four!
(If you prefer to coarse fish for Pike,Carp, Perch and other abundant species, thats fine)
Lunchtime; and its off to the lodge for a Hearty Seasonal Lunch and reflect on the mornings exploits..
Now it's time for a thrilling Clay Pigeon Shooting experience on adjoining woodland
where you will endeavour to blast at least 50 clay targets delivered by our collection of modern automatic traps, positioned to provide a variety of targets to cater for all guests. Everyone and anyone will thoroughly enjoy themselves as we tailor the shoot to guests experience and ability. A mix of easier layouts for the beginner or novice and more challenging for the experienced gun.
Follow this by returning to the lake and fish the evening rise or simply retire to the bar,
relax around the log fire and share stories of the one that got away...... fish or target!
This new joint venture is ideal for groups of between 5 and 25+ guests and can be adapted to present a great company team building / reward / meeting event or a perfect day out for a group of friends, colleagues, stag/hen parties or club members.
Beginners are welcome!
There are on-site instructors and guides in both Fly Fishing and Shooting with all necessary tackle, equipment and safety kit provided for an exciting and varied day. You will be Fly casting and smashing clays in no time!
All you have to do is turn up in outdoor clothing and we will do the rest!

bring it along and use it....
Your day includes a light breakfast and lunch served in the comfortable Fishing Lodge. Refreshments and snacks are provided throughout the duration of your visit.

For those that like to mix business with pleasure there is a large meeting/conference room available at Weir Wood equipped with Wi Fi and media comms suite. There are many local Hotels and Inns that offer 1st class accommodation; just request a list and recommendation.
(Package can include Pike/Carp or Coarse fishing if preferred . There are some whoppers in here!)
Fishing and Shooting are available separately if required or we can juggle the day to your requirement in terms of more/less fishing and Shooting or perhaps hold a serious meeting with a fun interlude?
